Jennet, Jellypop’s CEO, has instilled in me the importance of understanding EDL, Jellypop, and the broader business world beyond my marketing duties. Today, the other interns and I were given a very exciting opportunity to tour Tower 28, another Asian-woman-owned business here in Los Angeles.
Tower 28 is a makeup and skincare brand whose values are built on the pillars of fun, community, and clean living. A lot of the brand’s ideals highly align with Jellypop’s principles, and it was an extremely enriching experience getting insight into another company’s inner workings.
As a college student still figuring out my career direction, visiting Tower 28 was an inspiring experience. Walking through their office, I could feel the energy and passion that the team pours into every aspect of the brand. It was a place where creativity and business seamlessly blended, and I found myself captivated by how a small team can have such a large impact.
During our Q&A session with their Director of Strategy and Chief of Staff, I was struck by how much thought and intention goes into every decision they make, from their brand deals to the way they engage with their community. They shared stories about the challenges and triumphs they faced in building the brand, which made me realize the power of resilience and innovation in the business world.
What resonated with me the most was hearing how they approach partnerships and collaborations. Their emphasis on aligning with brands that share their values of inclusivity and authenticity echoed the importance of staying true to one’s mission, something that has been reinforced during my time at Jellypop. It’s not just about making deals; it’s about creating meaningful connections that uplift both brands and their communities.
Leaving the Tower 28 office, I felt a renewed sense of purpose and excitement for the possibilities that lie ahead in my career. It was a reminder that the path to finding one’s passion isn’t always linear, but with the right inspiration and guidance, it can be incredibly rewarding. This visit was not just an opportunity to learn about another business, but a moment that reignited my own aspirations and reminded me of the impact I hope to make one day.
Overall, our visit to Tower 28 not only broadened my understanding of the beauty and skincare industry but also reinforced the values that Jellypop embodies—community, authenticity, and purpose—reminding me that these principles are the foundation of any successful and inspiring brand.
